Two old movies I watched and enjoyed this week
--
I watch movies depending on my mood and I think some times, even when I have a pile of good movies waiting to be watched I would either go back to watching the ones I have already watched or watch something that is lighthearted or very obscure. I have been feeling a bit under the weather since the start of this week so I have been watching a lot of movies late into the night. In this blog I’ll share the ones that I really enjoyed a lot.
The Phantom of the Opera- When I read the book by Gaston Leroux, I thought the movie and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical were direct adaptations. However, the book is very different from the movie, which is actually adapted from Webber’s musical. Gerard Butler stars as the Phantom in Joel Schumacher’s 2004 movie and Emmy Rossum plays Christine Daae. Also found out she is a classically trained opera singer which is what explains her brilliant brilliant voice and singing in the movie! Loved it.
Death Becomes Her- Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep are hilarious! I l enjoyed every minute of this crazy fantasy-comedy movie. It is on Netflix and I don’t know how I had missed watching this way before. Better late than never. If you want to watch something fun, this could be your movie.
