Thoughts on The Crown
So I finished all the four seasons of The Crown. I started watching it a month and a half ago and I would have finished it earlier but in season 4 I just couldn’t make myself watch past the sixth episode. It was just a lot. The show itself is great, very well written, and the actors are incredible. But where I was actually kind of sympathizing with Britain’s royal family during the first two seasons, I just couldn’t do that since Diana’s entry in the fourth season of the show.
Also, the entire cast changes after two seasons to keep up with the years and their ages. But I would have much preferred if they had gone the prosthetics route like they do in This Is US. I just do not like Olivia Coleman at all. I don’t know why that is. I loved her performance in Fleabag but in this role she just can’t seem to fit in. Claire Foy was absolutely perfect for the role of Elizabeth. Coleman speaks too fast and lacks a lot of depth. That was the major source of my disappointment from season three and four. And now Imelda Staunton will play the queen in the final two seasons which has got me even more worried.
