Thoughts on Shershaah
Okay so I finally watched Shershaah. To be honest I had no idea about this movie and hadn’t even heard its name. But a friend highly recommended it then I looked up that it was about Kargil war hero Capt. Vikram Batra (PVC). I was intrigued. Also, I have always thought Sidharth Malhotra had potential but the choice of films he did lately were not really impressive. But yes, I really enjoyed the film, I think it’s one of the best Bollywood war movies if not the best. I loved Uri a lot but this one has somehow made its place higher than Uri in my list.
The cinematography and the action sequences are brilliant and definitely the highlight of the movie. The sound mixing and VFX is superb. Everything looked absolutely realistic. It was also shot in Kargil on actual inclines and rocky mountains so that is really commendable. Sidharth Malhotra has done a great job, easily his best performance till date. I hope he does more movies like this and not just the usual mindless action-comedy he was into before Shershaah. I was a kid when the Kargil war happened so I had heard about it but this actually made me aware of a lot of details as I’m sure was the case with many 90’s born people. The film’s music was also really good. Overall, a really good watch and I think you shouldn’t miss it.
