Tecno Camon 16 Premiere: Coming soon?
Last year saw Tecno launching some really good devices like the Tecno Spark 6 Go, Tecno Pova and the Tecno Camon 16, among some others. In the brand’s Camon 16 lineup there were three smartphones that were unveiled including the Tecno Camon 16. The Tecno Camon 16 Premiere, which is a part of the lineup is yet to launch in India and the price is being expected to be somewhere around 19k. Some may find the price to be slightly on the higher side but the smartphone also has a lot to offer in return.
Last year when the Camon series was unveiled at a launch event, the specifications and some other details of the Tecno Camon 16 Premiere were revealed as well. The USP of the Tecno Camon 16 Premiere is its dual selfie camera setup with a 48-megapixel main front camera. The dual selfie camera feature is definitely one of the major attractions for this smartphone. Although the Tecno Camon 16 Premiere has not launched in India yet, it is priced at KES28,499 for the sole 8GB + 128GB storage model in Kenya. The Tecno Camon 16 Premiere features a 6.90-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2460 pixels. In terms of the build the smartphone looks sturdy and decent. The Tecno Camon 16 Premier measures 170.61 x 77.18 x 9.10mm (height x width x thickness) and it is very easy to manage and hold with one hand. The smartphone was launched in a single colour variant of Glacial Silver. It is yet to see if there are more colour options that the brand offers when the phone comes to the Indian market.
It is powered by a big 4500mAh battery that offers sufficient backup and comes with support for proprietary fast charging. The Tecno Camon 16 Premiere is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T SoC and is available for a sole 8GB RAM variant. There is an in-built storage capacity of 128GB that the Tecno Camon 16 Premiere comes with which can be expanded via microSD card up to 512GB using a microSD card. It runs on Android 10.
Now, as we already established that the main attraction of the Tecno Camon 16 Premiere is the dual selfie camera that it features. Additionally, the smartphone also has a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel main camera with an f/1.89 aperture, a second 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.25 aperture, another 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, and finally a 2-megapixel low-light sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and Quad-LED flash. The dual front camera setup has an 8-megapixel secondary shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, besides the 48-megapixel main sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The selfie setup also features an adjustable dual front flash.
The Tecno Camon 16 Premiere comes with all the basic connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth v5.00. The phone also has multiple sensors which include an ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, proximity sensor, and there is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on board.
