Promising: Infinix Smart 5

Infinix Mobile Company has announced a new smartphone for the budget segment. The Infinix Smart 5 is the latest product to join the overflowing bandwagon of smartphones in the market. The smartphone is likely to be released some time in September this year. The price details of the phone are yet to be revealed. However, on the company’s Nigerian website the phone is listed at NGN 39,500 ( ₹7,800 approx).

The Infinix Smart 5 has been announced in two variants of 2GB and 3GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card with a dedicated card slot. The Infinix Smart 5 runs Android 10 (Go edition) and is powered by a quad core, 1.3 GHz, Cortex A53 processor, running on the MediaTek MT6580 chipset.

Coming to the look and feel of the phone, the Infinix Smart 5 smartphone comes with a 6.60-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display, with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 283 ppi. The new smartphone was announced in three distinct colour options of Ice Blue, Midnight Black, and Quetzal Cyan. The overall look of the phone is very trendy with a gem-cut design at the back that looks attractive and what youngsters would usually like.

For cameras, the Infinix Smart 5 sports a triple camera setup at the rear of the device with a 13- megapixel primary sensor plus another two 2- megapixel QVGA sensors. The camera setup has auto focus features. For selfies, the Infinix Smart 5 comes loaded with an 8-megapixel front camera with flash, tailor-made for your social media feed. The cameras look good and promising.

Going further, the Infinix Smart 5 is packed with a solid 5000mAh battery, that the company claims can go four days on a single charge. The Infinix Smart 5 is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. The new device

measures 165.40 x 73.40 x 8.75mm (height x width x thickness) . For connectivity options, the new Infinix Smart 5 smartphone includes Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, 3G, and 4G. Sensors on the phone include ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

We all know that new smartphones are cropping up in the mobile market almost everyday and the customers are more often than not spoilt for choice. Some may say that companies like Realme and Infinix are only coming up with slight upgrades in the market where there are already tonnes of options available. However, with every new addition to the market, the demands keep on increasing and these products keep selling out instantly. The Infinix Smart 5 smartphone is a good entry-level smartphone and shows promising features. Although we do not know the exact price details yet, the phone still looks like it will deliver both on the price and performance front.
