It’s extremely difficult for me to narrow down a list of all-time “best” books as it depends on the personal taste of every reader. However, here are a few classic and contemporary works that are widely considered to be excellent:

“The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood: This dystopian and speculative fiction novel is set in a near-future New England, in a totalitarian, Christian theonomy that has overthrown the United States government is a story of one woman’s struggle to survive and find her way in a world where women are treated as property.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee: This Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee explores themes of racial injustice and the loss of innocence through the eyes of a young girl named Scout Finch who grew up in Alabama during the Great Depression.

“The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald: This novel is considered a classic of American literature and is known for its portrayal of the excesses and decadence of the Beat generation back in the nineteen Twenties. Gatsby is one of the most celebrated fictional characters who was played on screen by none other than Leonardo De Caprio.

“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho: A modern classic, this novel follows the journey of a young shepherd named Santiago as he travels to Egypt in search of a personal legend and discovers the secrets of alchemy along the way.

“The Harry Potter Books” by J.K. Rowling: This beloved series of fantasy novels follow the adventures of a young wizard named Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as they attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and battle the evil Lord Voldemort.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson: This thriller novel introduces the characters of Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist, who team up to investigate a wealthy family’s dark secrets.

“The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins: This dystopian novel is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world where children are forced to fight to the death in a brutal televised event.

Final Word

I mean, of course, there are more books that I truly love but these are just a few examples that need to be listed. Also, these are insanely popular. There are many other great books out there, and it’s worth exploring different genres and authors to find the ones that speak to you.
