New phone on the block: Tecno Pova
The Tecno Pova smartphone has not launched yet and is expected to be officially out on December 4 in India, as was confirmed via Flipkart. The price of the phone is being expected to be somewhere around Rs. 10,800. The phone is already available in certain markets including Nigeria and Philippines. For the expected price belonging to the budget segment of the smartphone market, the Tecno Pova comes loaded with a lot of pretty incredible specifications and integrated features. The phone comes in with a solid gaming processor, a massive battery with fast charging option as well as a strong RAM configuration. It is being speculated that there will be three colour variants of the smartphone that will be offered along with a sole RAM and storage configuration.
The Tecno Pova will be launched in India on December 4 at 12pm as per the dedicated Flipkart page. As of now, it is unclear if there will be a launch event for the phone. According to the Philippines website, the smartphone costs PHP 6,999 over there so that roughly converts to Rs. 10,800. The phone will most likely be priced under 11k and, if we are being too optimistic, it could also be under 10k. If that happens the competition will be well finished in that price segment. Also, the Tecno Nova is expected to be available in Magic Blue, Speed Purple, and Dazzle Black colour options.
Going by the specifications mentioned in the Philippines website, so far we know that the Tecno Pova smartphone runs on Android 10 with HiOS on top. It features a 6.8-inch HD+ (720x1,640 pixels) display with a hole-punch cutout that houses the selfie camera. The phone is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 SoC and comes with 6GB of RAM with 128GB of onboard storage as well. The Tecno Pova smartphone is backed by a massive 6000mAh battery that has support for 18W fast charging. The phone measures 171.23x77.57x9.4mm.
For the camera specifications, the smartphone features a quad rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, also including two 2-megapixel sensors as well. According to some leaked tips, the fourth will be an AI HD lens. The phone will additionally sport an 8-megapixel selfie shooter at the front. Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi, LTE, GPS, Bluetooth, and more. The Tecno Nova may also come with FM radio support and some sensors including an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, compass, G-sensor, along with a fingerprint scanner on the back.
