New Phone Alert: Redmi 9i

Redmi has launched its newest champion the Redmi 9i. The Redmi 9i becomes the latest in joining the Redmi 9 series by Xiaomi that has been dominating the mobile market for quite some time. The mobile companies are always launching new phones, more so now in this pandemic. This phone comes after the Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9. This phone was launched on 15th September 2020. The phone comes with a 6.53-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720x1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display clarity is pretty good and the screen is adequately sized so it is good for watching movies and playing games.

Now, talking about playing games, let’s come to the internals and the performance of the Redmi 9i. The Redmi 9i is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor that features 4 cores clocked at 1.5GHz and 4 cores clocked at 2GHz. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and runs Android 10. The MediaTek Gseries chipsets are specially designed for the purpose of top- level gaming at an affordable price. The Helio G25 is a great choice of processor for the Redmi 9i and caters well to the needs of the young gaming enthusiasts looking for something pocket-friendly. Priced at just Rs. 8,299 the Redmi 9i comes with a big 5000mAh non-removable battery. The battery is solid and is fully capable of providing sufficient backup throughout the day. The Redmi 9i also supports proprietary fast charging which is another plus in a budget smartphone.

As for the cameras on the phone, the Redmi 9i packs a 13-megapixel primary sensor on the rear with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.0-micron. The rear camera setup has autofocus. For selfies, there is a dedicated 5-megapixel camera on the front. The Redmi 9i runs MIUI based on Android 10 and comes with 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card with a dedicated slot. The Redmi 9i smartphone supports dual-SIM operations (GSM and GSM) and accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. In terms of dimensions of the phone, the Redmi 9i measures 164.90 x 77.07 x 9.00mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 194.00 grams which is perfectly ideal. It is available in the colour variants of Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green.

In connectivity options, the Redmi 9i includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, Micro-USB, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). The phone boasts of several sensors including an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and compass/ magnetometer, and also support for face unlock feature.
