New Phone Alert: Poco M2

There’s another new phone in the market. Surprise Surprise. Xiaomi has launched the Poco M2 recently and the phone does offer a good set of features. It is priced just within the range of the budget segment at Rs. 10,999 which is good pricing and makes it accessible to people looking for a good phone that is not too hard on their budget. The Poco M2 is exactly that phone. The phone comes with a 6.53-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. Companies have been constantly launching smartphones, this new addition by Xiaomi is the latest addition to the pool of products in the mobile market. The Poco M2 is available in three distinct colour options of Brick Red, Pitch Black, and Slate Blue colours.

Now, coming to the performance of the Poco M2 all looks greatly promising as the phone is powered by a MediaTek processor for starters. Backed by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, the Poco M2 promises to be power packed to the brim. The Helio G80 is one of the strongest gaming chipsets in the market at the moment, and for a budget phone to be powered by it is a big deal. Gaming enthusiasts will find a lot of joy with this aspect of the phone. With MediaTek’s in-house HyperEngine Gaming technology, the Helio G80 uses a lot of advanced features to offer a brilliant gaming experience, as well as boosting the overall performance of the phone for other uses.

The Poco M2 runs MIUI for Poco based on Android 10. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and packs 64GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card with a dedicated slot. The Poco M2 supports dual- SIM functioning and accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. For the next big highlight of the phone now, the battery. The Poco M2 is packed by a great big 5000mAh battery that supports proprietary fast charging. The battery looks pretty decent and it will surely help enable users to have an even better experience with sufficient hours of backup.

Coming to the cameras now, the Poco M2 boasts of a four camera setup and packs a capable 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear. This is followed by a second 8-megapixel camera, then a third 5-megapixel camera and finally the fourth 2-megapixel camera, all part of the quad-cam setup which also comes with autofocus. For selfies, the device sports an 8-megapixel camera on the front.

The Poco M2 includes all the basic connectivity options on the device such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, Infrared, USB Type-C, FM radio, 3G, and 4G. The phone also comes with several sensors which include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and a fingerprint sensor. A great choice all in all.
