Another day, another phone. The Poco C3 has launched recently and it is quite a good package. The phone is marked for the budget segment and comes at a marked price of Rs. 7,499 for the base variant offering 3GB RAM with an internal storage of 32GB. For the higher variant storage model of 4GB RAM with an internal storage of 64GB the price is marked at Rs. 8,999. Both variants are pretty affordable and can be expanded up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card. It is obviously more prudent to go with a higher storage variant since there is not a very significant price difference between the two models.

Now in design and built, the Poco C3 features a 6.53-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) LCD display with a waterdrop-style notch and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The phone will be available in three distinct colour options of Arctic Blue, Lime Green, and Matte Black colours. The Poco C3 will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting October 16 in the country.

Now coming to some of the features on the phone. The Poco C3 comes with a triple rear camera setup. The setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, another 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 lens. The camera setup is good and looks neat at the back.

There is also a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling at the front of the phone. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM. The Helio G35 SoC is one of MediaTek’s gaming chipset and is ideal for entry-level budget phones offering decent gaming and overall performance.

The Poco C3 also sports a big battery. The new smartphone comes loaded with a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging. Most phones lack in the battery department especially if they cost under 10k so in this area Poco has managed to peak as well. Since this is festive season, Poco has been claiming the marked prices are introductory so there maybe a chance that we will see some increase in the pricing of the phone, at least in the base variant after the festive season ends. The Poco C3 is also a slightly reformed version of the previously launched Redmi 9C in Malaysia.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Poco C3 runs on MIUI 12 for Poco, based on Android 10. Connectivity options on the phone include a 3.5mm audio jack, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro USB port for charging. The Poco C3 is also P2i-rated for splash-resistance.
