Movies/Series to (not) watch on Netflix
When Netflix gained momentum there was so much good content to consume that we did not know how to start. Now with time we have become experts in our own rights at binging on the latest releases. But the sheer volume of content sometimes also makes it hard to sift through the good in the steadily increasing pool of some really horrible films and series. Although these things are very subjective and solely depend on the viewers, some things are so awful that they do get a unanimous boo to be honest. Here is a list of some films and shows that could skip as soon as you read the first initials:
6 UNDERGROUND
If you are like me and everyone else really, and love Ryan Reynolds, you may make this rookie mistake of attempting to watch this very snoozy film. I’m not particularly a fan of senseless action films but the trailer of 6 Underground directed by Michael Bay looked actually interesting. The film basically is based on six people who are from different parts of the world who are known to be dead. They form a sort of team to act out a very absurd revenge plan. The only good thing is Ryan Reynolds but even he couldn’t save this film.
INDIAN MATCHMAKING
So, do you already know ‘Sima Taparia from Mumbai’ or are you normal? This show has made a complete mockery out of Indian arranged marriages and then some. I have never watched something so cringeworthy and demeaning. The people, the aunties, the friends of aunties they just left no stone unturned in making the viewers feel uncomfortable. I wanted to watch it for a laugh bit I couldn’t even complete watching all the eight episodes. The minute Preeti and his son Akshay came on I had to take stand. For us, we can laugh and make memes about the entire thing but if somebody outside of India watches this show, not only would they get a very negative impression of our culture but they may not even believe the things that were happening. Granted a lot of it does actually happens.
THE KISSING BOOTH
Okay, so this movie is a teen romance film of the worst kind. I have never detested a teen movie so much. The writing is horrible and the execution is even worse. The entire nonsensical plot revolves around a high school girl in love with her best friend’s older brother and how she has to hide her relationship from said best friend because she didn’t want to betray him. Which she was doing already by being with his brother when she knew he didn’t approve. Which doesn’t make any sense at all. I never thought there could be a worse teen romance movie than this. I was wrong. This movie released its sequel! Save yourself!
And, the worst for the last… ready? I hope you are not lost baby girl…
365 DAYS
Yess! The worst film after the Fifty Shades abomination. This movie is so horrible that another movie could be made on its degree of horrible-ness. Amazingly outrageous dialogues, ridiculous plot lines and forced sex makes the entirety of this Polish film. There is no semblance of execution, or acting or writing. It’s sleazy at its worst. I seem to have lost the will to explain further. Just, NO. No.
So, I hope you heed my warning list and steer clear of this deadly potpourri of content. I mean if you are too bored and want to watch an episode or two of Indian Matchmaking… well, go ahead. Because I know you’ll stop on your own.
