The new Dimensity 1300 from Mediatek is another one of the new launches that came about recently. The chipset was launched alongside the Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 8000, and while the Dimensity 1300 has been a bit overlooked compared to the other two, I think it’s a pretty brilliant chip in its own right too. The Dimensity 1300 is built using TSMC’s 6nm process and has an eight-core CPU, including a 3GHz Cortex-A78 super-large core, three Cortex A-78 large cores, and four Cortex A-55 efficiency cores. In addition, Dimensity 1300 is also equipped with 9-core Mali-G77 GPU, APU 3.0, and HyperEngine 5.0 game engine. And these are only some of the specs that are known.

It is being speculated that a well-known smartphone brand will soon launch a new 5G smartphone integrated with the Dimensity 1300 chipset so that will be interesting to see. The Dimensity 1300 is packed with four Cortex- A78 cores and four A55 cores. Out of them, one of the A78 ‘Ultra’ cores clocks a speed of 3.0GHz, while the other ones get clocked at 2.6GHz and the A55s are clocked at 2.0GHz. This way, the overall frequency is well balanced and efficient. The Dimensity 1300 is, as you might have guessed, a successor and more upgraded version of the Dimensity 1200 flagship soc from Mediatek. The Dimensity 1300 chipset also supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage, and features a maximum possible refresh rate of 168Hz, similar to the other two Dimensity chipsets that were launched alongside the 1300.
