The Mediatek Dimensity 1300 is among the latest launches by the brand in the 5G sphere and the even though the chipset is yet to power a smartphone, the specs of the SoC are definitely impressive. I think it’s only a matter of time when one of the big smartphone brands would use the chip for a new launch. Let us take a look at some of what the Dimensity 1300 offers.

Cores- The Dimensity 1300 is packed with four Cortex- A78 cores and four A55 cores. Out of them, one of the A78 ‘Ultra’ cores clocks a speed of 3.0GHz, while the other ones get clocked at 2.6GHz and the A55s are clocked at 2.0GHz. This way, the overall frequency is well balanced and efficient.

Memory support- The Dimensity 1300 is, as you might have guessed, a successor and more upgraded version of the Dimensity 1200 flagship soc from Mediatek. The Dimensity 1300 chipset also supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage.

Connectivity features- The connectivity features of the chipset include support for 2 x 2 Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, while the soc also has integrated 5G with 4 x 4 MIMO. I think for mid-range 5G smartphones, this new mediatek launch could be a pretty amazing thing.

Camera and video support- The Dimensity 1300 comes with support for 200MP image sensors and is being credited as a capable chipset for much more improved low-light photography thanks to its Imagiq AI-assisted platform. The 5G flagship chipset also has features like 4K HDR Video with 3-Exposure Fusion for dynamic range enhancements of up to 40%.

Display features- The new Dimensity 1300 features a maximum possible refresh rate of 168Hz, similar to the other two Dimensity chipsets that were launched alongside the 1300. Additionally, the chipset is also joined by Miravision video feature support along with AV1 and a third gen APU support too.
