How do you categorize if a certain smartphone is worth buying or not? The price, of course. But also weighing in your requirements and the features the particular smartphone offers. I had been meaning to buy a smartphone for one of my cousins and for the 15k budget, I think my choice to consider the Tecno Camon 18 is a practical one. The smartphone was recently launched in the country, adding to the company’s affordable smartphone portfolio in India. The smartphone sports a 6.8-inch full HD+ (1,080x2,460 pixels) screen with 396 ppi and maximum brightness of 500 nits, and with 120Hz touch sampling rate. There is also a 48-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera. The smartphone is available in two vibrant colour options of Dusk Grey and Iris Purple. For the starting mid-budget price the specs are decent enough.

Besides the vibrant display, the Tecno Camon 18 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC that is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of storage. The chipset is competent and also supports gaming with ease. Tecno also offers the ability to “expand” the built-in memory up to 7GB by utilising unused storage. Pretty good combo for gaming purposes as well. The battery is one of the big highlights of the Tecno Camon 18. The smartphone is backed by a great 5000mAh battery that comes with support for 18W charging.

Tecno Camon 18 is equipped with a brilliant triple rear camera setup, featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture. This is then followed by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an AI lens, along with dual flash. There are also a number of features that the camera section comes with. The smartphone also boasts 2K video recording along with low light photography mode with the company’s TAIVOS technology. The camera also supports slow motion, night video mode, video bokeh and some other modes. I think it’s a good one. What do you think?
