There have been some debates as to the capability of the new Tecno Camon as a gaming smartphone and I am here to tell you that there are no doubts to be had. The Tecno Camon 16 is most definitely a great phone for gaming. It is very well equipped with a great MediaTek gaming processor and that too under a nominal budget. The newest champ by Tecno comes boasting some really ideal features that you would hope to find in a mid-range smartphone. First of all, with so many smartphones being launched almost every day in the market, the number of products have become uncountable. In such a situation any new phone has to have something worth noticing for it to be a success with the customers. The new Tecno Camon 16 is doing fairly well in that respect.

The Tecno Camon 16 is introduced in the mid-range market segment and it is priced at Rs. 10,999. The price is completely reasonable for a phone that is also a great gaming phone. The Tecno Camon 16 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G70 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. As is well-known, the Helio G70 is a stunning gaming chipset by MediaTek and employs features like the HyperEngine gaming technology to provide a vibrant and seamless gaming experience. The Tecno Camon 16 smartphone is available in a single 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration for now. The Tecno Camon 16 runs on Android 10-based HiOS 7.0 operating system.

Now let’s go into a bit of detail regarding the phone’s chipset to stress on the point of the Tecno Camon 16 being a well suitable phone for gaming. The Helio G70 is part of the Gseries range by MediaTek and is one of the best budget gaming chipsets available in the market. In CPU clock speed the Helio G70 has a speed of 2 x 2.2GHz & 6 x 1.7GHz. Additionally in GPU specs which is the important aspect for gaming, the MediaTek Helio G70 features an Arm Mali G52 GPU with a frequency of 820MHz. The Helio G70 is most ideal for regular high-level gamers. The chip powers smartphones like Realme Narzo 10A, Infinix Note 7, Realme C3, and more recently the Infinix Hot 10 smartphone. For gaming, an efficient, high-performance Arm Mali-G52 class graphics processor operates up to a speedy 820MHz. The Helio G70 incorporates a pair of powerful Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs that operate up to 2GHz, plus six Cortex-A55 CPUs in a single, octa-core cluster. All of these are interlinked and share a large L3 cache for improved performance. This is followed by up to 8GB of fast LPDDR4X memory. Because the Helio G70 is primarily a gaming chipset, an efficient, high-performance Arm Mali-G52 class graphics processor operates up to a speedy 820MHz for optimum performance.

Also, if you look at benchmark and antutu scores you will see that the Helio G70 fares very well in terms of speed and performance while dealing with heavy duty games like PUBG and Fortnite. I think it is pretty safe to say that the Tecno Camon 16 is a very solid contender of budget gaming smartphones in the market at the moment.
