A number of new smartphones have been launching lately and I think we have all got our favourites already. While I won’t say this is my favourite but the new Samsung Galaxy F42 5G is definitely one of the good devices launched. The features and specs it comes with make a pretty worthy device in my opinion. It is also the first phone in the company’s Galaxy F-series to come with 5G connectivity in India, and features support for 12 distinct bands.

The display of the Galaxy F42 5G is a pretty good one. It features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop-style notch. The display looks vibrant and impressive and it’s easy to handle as well. The smartphone is not too bulky at all and measures 167.20 x 76.40 x 9.00mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 203.00 grams. Another aspect of the smartphone which I think makes it a very worthy buy is the 5G processor it is integrated with. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. Paired with the 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, the device also comes with 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 1000GB via microSD card with a dedicated slot. The smartphone runs One UI 3.1 is based on Android 11.

Now, the pricing may seem a bit on the higher end I agree, but specs for the same are pretty decent and fair. The price of the Samsung Galaxy F42 in India starts at Rs. 20,999 for the base 6GB RAM variant. The smartphone also comes in an 8GB RAM model that is priced at Rs. 22,999. There were also some launch offers on the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G including a special introductory price of Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB variant and Rs. 19,999 for the 8GB option. There will also be no-cost EMI options and exchange discounts.

The bulk of the weight is due to the massive 5000mAh battery which claims to deliver a fast charging experience when using the bundled 15W charger. I think the battery is one of the best features in this smartphone behind the camera section. Samsung Galaxy F42 5G is available in two distinct colour options of Matte Aqua and Matte Black. The smartphone houses triple rear cameras headlined by a 64-megapixel primary sensor. along with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear camera setup also supports a variety of modes, including Hyperlapse, Slow Motion, Food Mode, Night Mode, Panorama, and Pro Mode. For selfies and video chats, the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G carries an 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front.

The smartphone also has a number of sensors onboard, including an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the phone includes Dolby Atmos support to deliver an immersive sound experience over wired and Bluetooth headphones. Regular connectivity options like 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, are also included in the smartphone. All in all, I think to conclude, the Galaxy F42 5G is definitely a worthy choice of smartphone.
