Reading books is a luxury that we are losing out on every day. There was a time when people were eager to read the best books in the world and gain knowledge from them. However, the rise of the digital age has turned things around. People are more and more drawn to visual mediums, and nobody wants to stretch out their imagination. When someone decides to read books, they open a new path for themselves in order to walk through unimaginable places. Books have the power to change lives, but more than anything, reading is an assurance about essentially two things. To start with, books, of course, offer to instill the reader with knowledge and a sort of humility that cannot be acquired otherwise. Furthermore, books work as an assurance for people that what they are going through is not new. People have gone through bad things, and there are ways to overcome them.

Albert Camus, a French philosopher, and author depicts the pains and perils of an epidemic that claimed thousands of lives in an imaginary city in France in one of his books, “The Plague.”The book is so well thought through and researched that when you read it today, especially at a time when the world is still struggling through a pandemic, you would find its unbelievable relevance working in your favor somehow. In another short story, The Lottery, the American writer Shirley Jackson writes about the dangers of blindly following traditions in a fictional village. There are innumerable memoirs and biographies written by people who wanted to tell their stories to the world, and their impact has been tremendous across the world. One can read autobiographies by Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and others to learn about their ways of life.

Books can assist you in a variety of ways. Of late, there has been a tremendous boom in the finance book industry, where you can learn the ABCs of the finance world and make yourself self-sufficient. New readers can also resort to graphic novels to get a better understanding of the topic in an entertaining and comprehensible way. If that’s not enough, one can also get their hands on history books to learn from the past in order to create a meaningful future. Reading books can bring people close to reality in ways that cannot be imagined. One of the many advantages of reading is that it improves your memory significantly. Read books to step into a better world. Let reading make your world better.
