The Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ has taken the market by storm as it made its debut integrated with the brand new Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G smartphone. A lot of comparisons have been made between Mediatek and Qualcomm chipsets and it is very normal for the two most popular chipset brands to be pitted against each other. So if we compare the Snapdragon 765G from Qualcomm and the Dimensity 1000+ from Mediatek, although both of them are really solid processors in their own rights, the latter definitely has an edge.

The greatest reason for the popularity of MediaTek is that its prices are very reasonable. MediaTek processors cater to every phone from every price range, which obviously benefits users the most. One of the reasons for this to gain wider popularity is also the fact that it is the first chipset till now to have an integrated MediaTek Helio M70 5G modem which means it has far better speed than any other existing chipsets. The next trigger is its 5G NR (Sub-6GHz) modem that does a lot to enhance download speed. With this chipset, one is sure to get a speed of up to 4.7Gbps. On the other hand Snapdragon 765G does not come with a 5G modem integration.

The Dimensity 1000+ is a more flagship chipset in the series and is a fully integrated chipset that is 7nm in design. The Dimensity 1000+ comes with MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology which enhances the 5G modem with power-saving technologies such as MediaTek 5G UltraSave OTA Content Awareness, MediaTek 5G UltraSave Network Environment Detection, Dynamic BWP, and Connected DRX etc.

In terms of CPU specifications, the MediaTek Dimesnity 1000+ has Arm Cortex-A77 clocked up to 2.6GHz and Arm Cortex-A55 clocked up to 2.0GHz. Additionally, the octa-core CPU with powerful cores and hexa-core AI APU 3.0 makes the running lag-free and operations smooth. In terms of GPU performance the Dimesnity 1000 uses Arm Mali-G77 MC9. The Snapdragon chipset on the other hand comes with an octa-core CPU 1x Kryo 475 (A76) Prime 2.4 GHz. 1x Kryo 475 Gold (A76) @2.2 GHz. 6x Kryo 475 Silver (A55)@1.8 GHz. GPU — Adreno 620. Supports Quick Charge 4+.

The Dimensity 1000+ chipset supports dual 5G SIM dual Standby and takes MediaTek’s dual-SIM leadership up with dual 5G SIM technology by providing services such as VoNR. Now coming to another important area which is the RAM and storage of the chipset. The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ supports up to 16GB of internal memory with the memory clock speed of 1866MHz and storage type UFS 3.0.
