Cameras checks: Realme Narzo 30

The Realme Narzo 30 is a pretty decent smartphone with a good set of features and I have already discussed some of them earlier, namely the excellent aming-oriented Mediatek Helio G95 processor coupled with a 6GB processor, and the big 5000mAh battery. There is also a 6.5-inch full-HD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate which is really good. What we haven’t discussed was the design and the camera section.

The Realme Narzo 30 is offered in two colour options of Racing Silver and Racing Blue. Both options have a shimmering off-centre strip passing through the camera module. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom alongside the Type-C USB port, primary mic, and speaker. The volume buttons are on the left side, while the power button with its embedded fingerprint reader sits on the right.

Let’s look at the cameras. The Realme Narzo 30 features a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 48-megapixel f/1.8 primary camera. This is followed by a 2-megapixel monochrome camera, and another 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies and video calls, there is a very capable 16-megapixel f/2.1 camera in the front. The camera interface is quite intuitive with important controls located just a tap away. Picture quality is very crisp with a good colour balance and a good amount of details without being grainy. At 2X digital zoom, the Narzo 30 also equipped to capture decent photos. Other options such as setting the timer and selecting the frame are a level deeper in a slide-out tray. One detail to note about the camera setup is that only two cameras out of the three are accessible to the user — the monochrome camera is only activated in Portrait mode to calculate depth.
