ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY laptop: Good Option Under 60k
With gaming laptops, sky’s the limit. It is usually the case that the more it costs, the better your gaming experience will be. However, these days a lot of mid-budget and low-budget options are also coming up as students generally prefer those to the very high-end versions. The budget bracket of Rs.60,00 is somewhat ideal and some actually good options are available in that price range. Personally, I would go with the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY which is priced at Rs. 57,851.
This laptop comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD resolution screen and an LED-backlit display. Additionally, it is an IPS-level Panel with a 120Hz refresh rate which is double of what most gaming laptops offer in this range. Windows 10 Home Edition also comes pre-installed with the laptop while covering lifetime validity for future updates. The ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY comes with an AMD Ryzen 5–3550H processor with base speed of 2.1 GHz and turbo speed of 3.7 GHz and 6 MB cache is used. The system has 8GB DDR4 RAM that is expandable up to 32GB. For storage, the ASUS FX505DY has 1TB HDD.
Now finally, the gaming performance of the laptop; the Asus FX505DY is powered by a Radeon RX 560X 4GB Graphics Card which enables you to play most of the modern games at medium graphics selection with around 45+FPS. When running games like PUBG, the Asus FX505DT provided a seamless experience without any lags or stutter. In PUBG, the laptop generated 70 fps at high settings, while in CS GO, it was between 140–150 fps at ultra settings. Also, for both NFS Rivals and GTA V, the FX505DT generated 50–70 fps at high/ultra settings, which is really incredible because both these games have a high resource consumption.
The ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY also comes with Hypercool Technology which incorporates a dual fan design to reduce the extra heat generation during gaming. This technology also prevents dust from accumulating inside the fans which helps in maintaining a clean laptop for a longer duration of time. Although, there would be some heating after a continuous session of two hours but that is not an issue and can be easily resolved by manually limiting the CPU to 99%. It will cause a negligible difference in frame-rates while still maintaining the temperature below the 75° mark.
Although there may have been some apprehensions previously regarding heating issues with ASUS, with this model however, the problem has been somewhat tackled and what we get is a good deal, and a smooth and satisfying gaming experience.
